ThememorialhalloftheformersiteoftheNewFourthArmyheadquartersislocatedinLuolivillage,YunlingTownship,24kilometersawayfromJingCounty,AnhuiProvince.AftertheJuly7thincidentin1937,theRedArmyguerrillasin14areasofeightsouthernprovinceswerereorganizedintotheNewFourthArmyoftheNationalRevolutionaryArmy(NRA).OnDecember25ofthesameyear,theheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmywasestablishedinWuhan,andenteredYunlingonAugust2,1938,untilthe"SouthernAnhuiIncident"inJanuary1941.DuringthepastthreeyearswhenthemilitaryheadquarterswasinYunling,itwasacriticalperiodfortheNewFourthArmytodevelopbehindtheenemylinesinChina.UndertheleadershipofYeTingandXiangYing,theofficersandmenoftheNewFourthArmywereactiveinthenorthandsouthoftheriver,bravelyresistingtheenemyandcreatingmanyantiJapanesebaseareas.AstheNewFourthArmyheadquartersinthisperiod,itmadegreatcontributionstotheChineserevolutionandleftagloriouspageinthehistoryofChineserevolution.TheformersiteofthemilitaryheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmywasleftwhenthemilitaryheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmywasstationedinYunling.

NowwecometoZhongmogarden,whichwasoriginallyalandlord'shouse.ItwasbuiltinthelateQingDynasty.Itwascomposedofthreerooms,47roomsandagarden,presentingashipshapeasawhole.MilitarycommanderYeTing,deputychiefofstaffZhouzikunandothernewfourtharmygeneralsandinternationalfriendsSmedleyandmusicianRenGUANGalllivedandworkedhere.Inthespringof1939,whenComradeZhouEnlaiinspectedtheheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmy,hestayedintheofficeofcommanderYeTing.
YeTingisnotonlyafamousmilitarist,butalsoascholar.Inaddition,heisalsoaphotographyartistwithprofoundattainments.Duringhismilitaryexpeditions,comradeYeTingtookmanyworks.Thereisalsothedarkroomhesetuptodevelopphotos.The"photoexhibitionofgeneralYeTing"and"photoexhibitionofgeneralYeTing'slife"arerarehistoricalmaterialsinthehistoryoftheNewFourthArmy.MostofhisphotographsweretakeninsouthernAnhuiduringhistenureascommanderoftheNewFourthArmy.TheworksondisplayaredonatedbyYeTing'ssecondsononbehalfofhisfamily.

NextwecometotheGreatHallofthemilitaryheadquarters.Comewithme.TheformersiteoftheGreatHallofthemilitaryheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmyisalsothesiteoftheexhibitionhalloftheformersiteofthemilitaryheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmy.Itwasoriginallythe"ChenClanancestralhall"inYunlingandwasbuiltintheseventhyearofthereignofEmperorKangxioftheQingDynasty(1468AD).ItisoneofthetwolargestancestralhallsinJingCounty.OnAugust2,1938,theheadquartersofthenewfourtharmymovedtoYunling,whichistheGreatHalloftheheadquartersoftheNewFourthArmy.Itisthemainplaceforthemilitaryheadquarterstoholdlarge-scaleconferences,carryoutculturalandrecreationalactivities,holdmilitaryandciviliangatheringsandholdbootyexhibitions.Inthespringof1939,ZhouEnlaimadeanimportantreportheretothecommandersandfightersoftheNewFourthArmy.ThenewexhibitionofNewFourthArmyinsouthernAnhuiisthelatestdevelopmentofChen'sancestralhall.Theexhibitionis20yearsold___Itwonthenationaltoptenfinedisplayawardsin.
