YulongSnowMountainislocatedinthenorthwestofLijiang,YunnanProvince,China.Ithasanorth-southtrend,asteepfan,andanaltitudeof5596meters.Itisthelowestlatitudeandhighestaltitudepeakinthenorthernhemisphereoftheworld.The13peaksofthesnowmountainarecoveredwithsnowalltheyearround.Likeavigorousjadedragonlyingonthetopofthemountain,ithasthepotentialtojumpintotheJinshaRiver,soitiscalled"JadeDragonSnowMountain".
YulongSnowMountainislocatedbetween100°4′2″-100°16′30″Eand27°3′2″-27°18′57″n,coveringanareaof415squarekilometers.Themainpeakfanissteep,withanaltitudeof5596meters.Itiscoveredwithsnowalltheyearround.TherearetemperatemarineglaciersintheEurasiancontinentclosesttotheequator.YulongSnowMountainiscalled"OuLu"inNaxilanguage,whichmeanssilverrock.Itiswrappedinplainsilverandhas13snowpeaks,justlikea"giantdragon"flying,soitiscalled"jadedragon".BecausethelithologyofYulongSnowMountainismainlylimestoneandbasalt,blackandwhite,soitisalsocalled"blackandwhitesnowmountain".
YulongSnowMountainisthesacredmountainintheheartofNaxipeople.ItissaidthatitistheincarnationoftheNaxiprotectivegod"Sanduo".YulongSnowMountainisrichinnaturalresources,themostornamentalvalueisthealpinesnowlandscape,waterlandscape,forestlandscapeandmeadowlandscape.Theseuniquenaturallandscapesattractcountlesstouriststovisithereeveryyear.In20__,YulongSnowMountainwasratedas4Ascenicspot,andinMay20__,itbecameoneofthefirstbatchof5AscenicspotsinChina.Itisbelievedthatinthenearfuture,YulongSnowMountainwillbecomeafirst-classscenicspotwithfirst-classecologicalenvironment,whichcanlettouristsenjoyecotourism,feelbiodiversity,andfullyreflecttheintimacyandharmonybetweenhumanandnature.
