taishanmountain,atypicalrepresentativeofthechinesefamoustraditionalmountains,isamountainwithalonghistoryandaspecialhistoricstatus.in1982,taishanmountainwasupintothelistofstatekeyscenicspotsandwasformallylistedinthedirectoryofworldnaturalandculturalheritagein1987.itbecomesapreciousheritageofhumanbeing.
taishanmountainlocatesintheeastofnorthchinaplainandthemiddleofshandongprovinceerectingfromtheshandonghills.itisprominentaroundotherhills.theprominentpeak,yuhuangpeak,is1545metershighandlocatesineast117.6degree,north36.16degree.thesouthoftaishanmountainishigherthanthenorth.itssouthfootofmountainbeginsfromtai'ancityanditsnorthfootofmountainstopsinjinancity,thedistancebetweenwhichis60kms.intaishanmountain,thetransportationisconvenientwiththejinghurailwaypassingbyinthewest.initsnorthisjinancity,whichhasanothernameof"springcity".thedistancebetweentaishanmountainandqubuis70kms.manyroadsandrailwayssuchastaifei,taixin,taining,andtaijimeetintai'ancity,whichjustlocatesinthesouthoftaishanmountain.
taishanmountainisinasuperiorgeographiclocationwithabundantwaterandthermalresources,anditsclimatebelongstothewarmtemperatezonehalfwetnessmonsoonclimate.asregardtoitshistoricposition,intheancienttimes,taishanmountainisadevelopedregion——inthelowerreachesoftheyellowriver.asregardtoitsculturalposition,itisthecenterofdongyiculture.inthesouthfootoftaishanmountain,thereisdafenkouculture,andthereislongshancultureinitsnorthfoot,itisthecenterofqiandlu.anditstransportationismoresuperior.taishanmountainisinakeypositionwheretherailwayfromcentralplainstoshandongpeninsulameetstherailwayconnectingthesouthandnorthoftheeastcoast.therearenohillsbetweentaishanmountainandthecapitalsintheancienttimesaswellasthedevelopedregions.thissuperiorconditionhelpstaishanmountaingainthefirstpositionamongthefivefamousmountainsinchina.
