Jingyuetanisknownasthegreenpearl.LocatedinthesoutheastofChangchunCity,JingyuetanisknownasthesisterlakeofSunMoonLakeinTaiwan.JingyuetanhasbeennamedasanationalscenicspotandanationalforestparkbytheStateCouncilandtheMinistryofforestry.IthasbecomeaprovincialresortinJilinProvince.Jingyuetanisawonderfulplaceforspringouting,summersummer,autumnfoliage,winterskatingandskiing.
Jingyuetanscenicarea,coveringanareaof151squarekilometers,is12kilometersawayfromthecenterofthecity.Itisdirectlyconnectedtothelakesidebythenationalfirst-classhighway.Thescenicareacoversanareaofmorethan83squarekilometers.Itisdividedintofourscenicspots:Tanbeimountainscenery,Tannanforestsea,YuetanShuiguangandTandongvillage.Themainscenicspotiswaterscenery,setoffbymountainvillages,andthevegetationisrich.Duetoitsgeographicallocation,perfectforestlandscapeandclearwater,itwasopenedasthenortherngreencenterbythestatein1986.In1988,theMinistryofforestryapproveditasanationalforestpark.
JingyuetanscenicspotisthelargestplantationinChina.Thereare8000hectaresofplantationsthathavebeengrowingformorethan50years,whichisfamousintheworld.Sofar,Jingyuetanhasformedauniqueforestlandscapewithmultitreespecies,multi-levelandmultistructure.Ithasbecomeanidealenvironmentforouting,springouting,camping,mountaineering,flowerwatching,moonwatchingandsummervacation.Becauseafforestationhasalwaysbeenthesameasthepines,theforestisquietandmysterious.
TheTaipingbuildingontheviewofthetanmountainiselegantandunique.Itisanartisticmasterpieceintegratingtheessenceofancientandmodernarchitecture.TherearetwoancienttombsofJinDynastyinthemountainvillage,whichhavebeenlistedasculturalrelicsprotectionunitsinChangchunCity.
WiththeapprovalofJilinProvincialPeople'sgovernment,ChangchunJingyuetanTourismEconomicDevelopmentZonewasestablished.TheareaincludesJingyuetanNationalkeyscenicspot,JingyuetanNationalForestParkandJingyuetanTouristResortinJilinProvince.Withaplanningareaof186.138squarekilometers,ithasjurisdictionovertworenovatedtownships(towns),twostate-ownedforestfarmsandJingyuetanreservoir.
