WuyishaninFujianProvincewaslistedintheWorldBiosphereReserveNetworkin1988.ItwaslistedintheworldheritagelistinDecember1999.
WuyishanScenicSpotislocatedinWuyishanCity,northwestofFujianProvince,about15kilometerssouthoftheurbanareaandatthesoutheastfootofthenorthernsectionofWuyishanmountains,withanareaofabout70squarekilometers.ThereisatypicalDanxialandform.Withhundredsofmillionsofyearsofnature'suncannyworkmanship,ithasformedabeautifulsceneryofQifeng,XiushuiJuhui,BishuiDanfengandabsolutelybeautifulscenery.Theancientssaidthatit"hasthreeorthreewinsinwaterandsixorsixstrangepeaks",andisknownas"QixiuaSoutheast".
Thereare36peaks,72caves,99rocksand108scenicspotsinWuyishanScenicArea.Notonlyhasthescenerythroughouttheyear,thefourseasonsaredifferent,andtheweatheriscloudyandsunny,thesceneryofthemountainsandriversisalsounpredictableandmagnificent.Nowitisdividedintosevenscenicspots:Wuyipalace,JiuquRiver,Taoyuancave,yunwoTianyou,yixiantianhuxiaoyan,tianxinyanandshuiliancave.IthasthewondersofHuangshan,thebeautyofGuilin,thepoweroftaidai,thedangerofHuayueandthebeautyofWestLake.
TheessenceofWuyishansceneryisintheninebendbrook.JiuquRiveroriginatesfromSanbaomountain.Itswaterisclearandtwistsandturnsaroundthemountain,whichformsthevictoryofJiuqu.SomeofthemostfamouspeaksinWuyiMountainandthemysterioushangingcoffinsonthecliffsarelistedbesideJiuquRiver.TherearealsoYulinPavilion,porcelainkilnsiteofSongDynasty,Wuyipalaceandothertouristattractionsinthescenicarea,whichareofgreathumanisticvalue.Wuyishanalsohasmanyplacesofinterest,suchasChongyouWannianpalace,HongqiaoandJiagouboatcoffin,aswellasrareanimalsandplantsintheworld.Itisanationalkeynaturereserve.ThereisalsoaWuyishanNatureMuseum.
WuyiMountainisalsoafamoushistoricalandculturalmountain,theancientssaid:"ConfuciusandQiuintheEasternZhouDynasty,ZhuXiintheSouthernSongDynasty,Taiyueinthenorth,Wuyiinthesouth.".ZhuXi,aneoConfucianistoftheSouthernSongDynasty,livedhereformorethan40years.Hesetupanaccounttoteachdisciplesandwrotebooks,whichmadeittheculturalcenterofSoutheastChinaandknownas"DaonanLicave".Taoismalsocalledit"the16thcave".Therearenolessthan2000hymnswrittenbyliteratiandscholarsinthepastdynasties.Therearemorethan400inscriptionsonthecliffs.Theserichculturalandhistoricalrelicsalsoaddtothestyleofthefamousmountains.TheancientYuepeople'sboatcoffins,theancientcityruinsoftheHanDynasty,theancientporcelainkilnruinsoftheSongDynastyandtheimperialteagardenoftheYuanDynastymakeWuyishanaplaceforpeopletovisitandexploreancienttimes.
WuyishanNatureReserveisthelargestandmostcompleteforestecosysteminSoutheastChina.Ithasmanypeaks,denseprimevalforest,magnificent,simpleandbeautifulscenery,andrichbiologicalresources.ItisincludedintheUnitedNations"manandnature"reserve.
